whainga ako; ARK WHAEA RHONDA !!

!!! ASK WHAEA RHONDA !!!
Who designed our new Kapa Haka Uniform?
The design was taken from an original kapa haka uniform when it was known as the “Kaikohe Maori School”
What inspired you?
I wanted to keep something from our past & make it part of our present to preserve for the future.

Whaea Nicki, Whaea Raewyn and Matua Andrew were responsible for designing the visual representation of our school.  Whaea Nicki used the Kohekohe berry as a symbol of Kaikohekohe, as it is significant to our town area.  It is encased in a Koru, which is symbolic with New Beginnings, so let's not lose our heritage, which has been woven into our kapa haka costumes.
